Most consumers know goji as a dried berry coming from China, what they may not know is that goji berry can be consumed fresh just like blueberries and raspberries. Our varieties of goji have a very pleasant sweet and acid. They can be consumed fresh as a dessert and in smoothies or it can be cooked in a variety of dishes and pizzas. Goji berry was historically grown in china where it's considered as a medicine used by the TCM to treat many illnesses. It has the highest antioxidants level of all fruits and vegetables. China does not exports its goji berry fresh but only in the dry form. Fresh goji berries conserve better their antioxidants and nutrients and have a very nice sweet taste appreciated by adults and children alike.
Our fresh goji is handpicked at maturity and put directly into a punnet with delicate care before it's sent to the packhouse where it will be rapidly cooled to remove the field heat. This guarantees the product freshness so it can reach its destination in the best possible form.
The shelf life of our fresh goji is generally similar to that of other soft fruits. By using air cargo, Gojibell is able to serve many of its customers on a weekly basis with the best quality possible. We are able to ship an order with a few days notice and have it delivered to our customers the next day after harvest. This service allows our fresh goji berries to have an even longer shelf life with conserved freshness.
Fresh goji berries are packed in 100-125g punnets for the fresh market but we can package our goji in any form needed by our industrial clients. We can also do private labels for our customers. We pack our goji in our own ECOCERT certified packhouse and we supervise the complete process with a vigorous Quality Control system.
Our fresh goji berries are harvested from mid June to the end of October.
